Fuerteventura, one of the seven Canary Islands located in the Atlantic Ocean, across the African continent and is now part of Spanish territory.
The origin of Fuerteventura is very old, dating to approximately a few more than 100 million years, it is a volcanic Island, submarine eruptions were continuing to Fuerteventura emerge from a distance of about 500km with origins in the decline of the African continent and reaching to the surface of the Atlantic, being one of the oldest and longest of the seven islands and the second largest with an area of 1,725 km2 and the Island of Lobos is 6 km2. Fuerteventura is the closest to the African continent, to the East of the Island, the cliffs at the tip of the notch is the nearest place at a distance of 52 nautical miles of Saguia el-Hamra in the Sahara, the Island Lanzarote closest to the northwest are first six nautical miles (seven miles) from Punta Pechiguera in Lanzarote and Punta Gorda or Tiñosa in Fuerteventura, second Gran Canary southeast to 45 nautical miles between the tip of Fuerteventura Jandia Peninsula and Gran Canaria Gando.
