The building where is Casa Museo was bequeathed by Dr. Mena to their heirs and today is known as "Casa de los Alfaro" because it remained in the family of that name until 1999, when it was acquired by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura to use it as Casa Museo. The building of the Casa Museo is characterized by its considerable size, in relation to domestic buildings in the vicinity. This Casa Museo has been set out with elements of a well-off rural housing, among which are several personal items of Dr. Mena.
